Our second league game of the season was at home against Sheffield Wednesday. We went into this game with a slightly weaker team than normal, because of our mid-week cup match.
This game took a while to really get started, but Swindon broke the deadlock on 23mins, when Bodin's shot was blocked on the edge of the box, but the rebound fell to Straker, who tapped the ball into an empty net. Swindon Town 1-0 Sheffield Wednesday.
However, in the 33rd minute, Will Evans brought down Darren Purse inside the area. PENALTY!
The resulting penalty was scored by Morrison. Swindon Town 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday.
But Swindon again took the lead on 38mins, when Pericard made a great run down the right, before sliding the ball across the box to Bodin, who tapped it past the out-stretched keeper. Swindon Town 2-1 Sheffield Wednesday.
Any chances of a Sheffield Wednesday comeback were crushed a minute later when Pericard again made a great run down the right, before curling the ball into the box, where Bodin headed in. Swindon Town 3-1 Sheffield Wednesday.
The ball was in the Wednesday half for almost all of the rest of the half, but no more goals were scored. The teams went in at half time, Swindon leading 3-1.
The second half was full of end-to-end action, but no great chances were created, and no more goals were scored.

Manager's View: Despite having a weakened team, the players went out and gave 110% effort, and the result showed that. I think we were unlucky not to get more goals in the second half, but overall we are pleased with the result.
